Mount Everest. The highest point on the planet earth, standing at 8848m, is an awe-inspiring sight. Walk among the highest snow-capped peaks in the world, admire them close up and come face to face with Chomolungma, the Tibetan name for Everest meaning the “Mother Goddess of the World”.The trek to the base camp of Everest is a classic Himalayan trek and an all-time favourite. This historic route was taken by the early mountaineers and starts from the town of Lukla after a short but breathtaking flight through the mountains. The trail follows rushing rivers and winds through rhododendron and magnolia forests. Cross suspension bridges over deep valleys and all the while seeing brightly coloured Tibetan prayer flags flutter in the wind as you encounter monasteries and the Tibetan Buddhist culture.

The trek to the base camp of Annapurna is a classic and enthralling Himalayan trek and an all-time favourite. This route begins in the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara and brings you along an ancient trade route to Tibet, winding through rhododendron forests and terraced fields of the lowlands, through an amazing gorge into the mountain fortress known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. Here's where you'll come face to face with the Annapurna massif, known to be one of the most dangerous mountains in the world.
